Seems that the long delay was down to a re-design of the core mechanics. It was originally going to be a deck-building game. It's a must-buy here too.

In their July update FFG gave it an October release date. It's printed and available at GenCon so I imagine that its on schedule.

Well, got it at GD.
Had a read at the rules (about 6 times - theyre not the best witten) and was a bit underwhelmed.
But! - played a game last night with Gus, Woostie and Duffy - LOVE IT! I can see it not appealing to everybody, but I think its great after my first game and looking forward to more.

Yes, I also really liked it. I could say more, but I'm tired.

I've not had a chance to get it on the table yet. Anyone able to give me a run-down of how it plays and pros and cons??

Well it's all about playing your teams (i.e. cards) into the correct game highlight for that week so that you can win fans. After 5 weeks, the coach who's team has the most fans wins that season (i.e. game of BBTM).
Over the course of the 5 weeks the odd tournament will crop up and you can enter your team into that as well as the games for the week.
As well as winning fans for winning highlights and tournaments you can win star players, coaching staff etc, which help you win more highlights for more fans.
As for pros and cons? Very hard to say after just one game, but based on what Squinty says and what I've seen and read of the game, 1v1 coaches probably won't play out as well as a 3 or 4 coach game, as with more players, there is more to win and more to loss so strategy and tactics changes accordingly. I think 2 players (emphasis think) will just resort to who plays their team cards better.
As for pros: I replicates BB very well at the game level, Skaven are fast, Orcs tough, WE's very good with the ball and I really had a sense of being a team manager.
As opposed to playing FIFA, we were playing Champ Manager.
Happy with the purchase and looking forward to more games.

I've not had a chance to get it on the table yet. Anyone able to give me a run-down of how it plays and pros and cons?? Bit early to say about Pros and Cons, but essentially plays like this: 1 cup or weekly event is played and 4 highlight cards. Each player then assigns 1 of their players to a cup or highlight. and carries out any actions from that player. Each Highlight has a reward for turning up and a reward for winning the highlight. Actions are: block, pass, sprint, scheating all are optional except for cheating which is mandatory. The next player then assigns assigns one player to a highlight and carry out his actions or passes. (passing ends your turn and you can no longer play ANY more cards) this continues until all 6 players from each coach has been played or all coaches pass. Once all players are done you add up the star player points for each player Each player has 2 values - a standing value and a knocked down value Having the ball adds 2 value to a player Cheating tokens are revealed and can add fans / star player values or send off a player. The managers then get rewards (fan factor / team upgrades / abilities / star players) The winner is the player who ends with the highest fan factor. (Its quite a hard game to explain - its far easier to show) I'll be bringing it again this Thursday if anyones up for another match?

I have thought of a pro...
The teams feel like they should to play.
Elves have a lot of sprint (lets you take a card from your deck into your hand so youve a good chance of having the right player in the right place at the right time)
Orcs have a lot of blitzes
Chaos are a bunch of cheating gits (think they'll be a win big or get sent off trying team)
Skaven are a mix of sprint and cheating
Humans are all rounders
Dwarves have lots of guard (lets you move damage to other team members and dautless on the trollslayers)
Also, all the best known star players have made it to the decks - Griff, Zug, Deeproot, Grim Ironjaw, Jordell and of course - The Mighty Morg (who can play for good or evil teams, but not at the same time). Also a lot of new ones and freebooter mercenarys
