painted preferred but as it is a friendly tourney not going to be strict on it. as for chaos you could use it if you have the rules.

If no one mind a WFB noob (well not played it since 7/8 years ago, but have learnt the new rule for short time working in GW Edinbrugh).
I would like to attend. Just mean I get my chaos army done other wise it going to fade in the background as another "to do force", also get me playing WFB a bit more. Painting... I will do my best I should have them that least undercaoted just depend what happen from near time spare time wise.
Thanks
Jamie

Right, from TWF we have:
Mike Marshall Trev Moffatt Bill Paterson Andy Duncan Andy Potter
plus me, Gus, Paul, Donzo, Neil and a couple of others from this thread - getting numbers together ok.
Should we ask if any of the NWA/Northern English chaps are keen? Or will we get a few more from DWARF et al? 15-20 would be a good number.
Also, one last request, could we skip special characters - or at least lord level SC's - they are just silly?!

Definitley up for it, just have to get the day off work which shouldn't be too much problem now that the holiday season is over. Might use my Goblins since they'll be fully painted by then with a bit of luck.

Saturday it is - for beers and a curry.
Once we have numbers we can book East India Company? or another if anyone has strong feelings about where to eat.
For what it's worth - my preference is to say no to Lord SCs, but to allow hero-level ones. My Daemons are restricted enough already once they go all-Nurgle without having to lose Epidemius too!
That's a purely biased opinion of course, and if you go for no SCs I can always take Empire of Tomb Kings.

I think you should be allowed to take whatever you feel like. The new special characters are not that overpowered & somewhat weak in certain areas, if I was going to ban special characters the only one I would consider is Shadowblade as his rules are a bit bent. I also have a biased opinion on this as the army that I have been planning to take has a character that is both Lord status & special character . But it also makes my army themed as it is Helebrone in a Khainite army based around Witch Elves & Executioners Cauldron of Blood etc, with the Witch Elves being the Core units one of Helebrones special rules ;D.(Please note that my Khainite army does not have Shadowblade (YET!!!) even though this would make extremely themed) Either way am not that bothered I can always take another style Dark Elf army....

That's the difficulty with SC's. Most are fine, some - like Shadowblade - are just silly. Shadowblade pretty much guarantees a dead general at the start of the game. There are a few others around that are silly also. Kroak, Karl Franz on his dragon taking only a lord choice, Teclis is pretty silly, and Thorek is notoriously broken. I think Deathmaster Skitch is pretty bad also, from distant memory.
On the other hand some are great for themed armies - Hellebrond, Orion, Drycha, that bald empire priest ... whatever his name is.
But it's the few bent ones that give a bad name to the rest, and why they are so universally despised in tournie scenes.
Shadowblade is going to be sick at this year's GWGT!
It'll be a fun weekend however we settle on the gaming, so it's not that important.
However, choice of venue on Saturday night is! East India Co. anyone?
