An introduction, from the man that needs no introduction...
Well, most of the Falkirk lot will probably know me already (as Chaos John, my alter ego) as might some of you Stirlinglanders, as I did frequent the old GW when I was at Uni through there.
For those that don't (you've either been living under a rock for the last few years, or my noctural cycle has kept me out the loop), I'm John, a kick in the arse off of 30, been into gaming for about 20ish years (or since Heroquest came out). Pretty much played every army for any given GW system (although 99.99% of it will have been unpainted) and most of the thousands of minis I've ever bought have remained unused in boxes gathering dust.
I'm a huge fan of WARMACHINE and HORDES, and used to do the whole tournament thing between Edinburgh and Glasgow (and Manchester...) but that was before my 2 kids came along andruined my gaming career enriched my life.
Still, I've got to the point where I get every Thursday off of work (permanent nightshift) and providing the boss isn't at work, am free to come out and play.
I'm instantly recognisable as the hairy, pierced and tattooed guy, probably dishing out sarcasm and insults (and the occasional vulgar anecdote) in equal measure whilst getting my back-end handed to me by some small child.
I suffer from Gamer OCD, so I always have innumerable unfinished projects on the go, which means I rarely if ever actually manage to finish an army, although, I have been trying to paint (which was always my least favourite part of the hobby) at least an hour a day.
I managed to get a whopping 3500 points of Uruk-hai done for LotR last year (the majority of which is currently residing in the window of GW Falkirk. Top shelf, right hand side. *end shameless plug*) and have started a Gondor force for WotR as this years major project. I'm also putting together a Beastman list, hopefully featuring a lot of conversions, and am trying to get a Protectorate force painted up (once I've bought it) for WARMACHINE, and get some Trollbloods finished too.
Then there is the Nurgle's Rotters BB team that's been sitting half-done for over a year, the WAB Celt army, my Treemonic Legion, Warriors of Chaos, Daemons, Ogres, Skaven, Vamps, CSM, Rebel Guard, Necrons and so on and so forth...
I also have an unhealthy Xbox 360 addiction.
Still, that's probably more than enough crap from me for the moment.
I look forwards to being the new whipping boy. And apparently, the boss thinks it'll be good for me to get out the house more. Something about being less of an anti-social, crabbit *expletive deleted* around the house...
Cheers,
John
