Very nice m8. You've mastered the new washes (that's a compliment) as the shading on these models is brilliant.

Cheers Gus, but please see the post regarding proper use of spelling, punctuation and grammar on the forum... I reckon I'm a dab hand at this washing business, I should be with all the practice I'm getting.

OK, next lot done. 2 units of Wraiths. Feels a bit strange to paint something that isn't doused entirely with Devlan Mud when it is finished... That puts me at 78 minis so far this month (and year...), so, 22 more to hit 100 for January. Should be do-able. Squinty - I'll need to get down to the shop and get pictures of it. None of the ones I took turned out great.

I wonder if someone with camera skills could do a post on talking good photos. Cos I'm not so good either.

I like those Mantic figures. I'm currently converting some ghouls/zombies into a Necromunda scavvy gang. Wish I could match your paint job though.

Cheers Ben, it's nothing but a neat basecoat and a few heavy washes... Also. Check it out! www.manticblog.com/?p=2760A superstar walks amongst you.

Want to share how you did the ghouls/zombies?
My trial plague zombie was rather simple: Undercoat white, basecoat bronzed flesh, a fairly liberal almost-drybrush of rotting flesh, blood red gore spots, enchanted blue robe (I'll mix the colours for others), and flesh wash over the top.
Looks ok (table top quality) to me, though my rather old flesh wash seemed to have no real effect, despite still looking dark in the pot. Yours look much better though.

Sorry for double posting (I know some don't like it) but I checked your painting log and found the answer. I'll post it here in case anyone else is curious:
Zombies - Primed bone (Army Painter spray), washed with Leviathan Purple (GWW), then Asurmen Blue (GWW), clothing painted variety of browns (VEO or GWF), and dark green, open areas and exposed muscle painted Sanguine base (P3), teeth and exposed bone and bandages done in bone/Dheneb Stone (GWF), eyes dotted Putrid Green (old GW). Watered down wash of Devlan Mud.
Ghouls - Primed flesh (Army Painter spray), washed with Leviathan Purple (GWW), clothing painted variety of browns (VEO or GWF), and dark green, bandages done in bone/Dheneb Stone (GWF), eyes dotted Putrid Green (old GW). Watered down wash of Devlan Mud.
Blood effects courtesy of TCR and P3 Brown Ink.

Just to add to that -
I think the trick to painting 'wet' undead, is to make sure you add a sort of warmth to the skintone. Yes, they are corpses, but, as they are still meaty, there should be evidence of bruising, bloatedness, or blood retention. Red and purple washes or glazes help with this, rather than blues, which I would use for Vampires to convey a real sense of being dead. But that's enough of me BS'ing that I know about colour theory.

Look great dude. What'd you use for the skin colour of the Drow? Was going to do my DE BB team the same way. In my head I had Fortress Grey and then Badab Black?
