Hello folks, I have been looking for a wild west game for ages and at the tail end of last year picked up the rule book for Gangfight Game's Black Water Gulch. The rules are fun and simple with a little rpg esque character advanment for your gang members. Of all the wild west minatures out there their sculpts look like the best, that I have seen, full of character and detail. blackwatergulch.com/Anyway the reason I mention it is that they have launched a "kickstart" funding campaing to get the miniatures side of the game off the ground: kck.st/yCGUQGLike all these things depending on how much you choose to donate depends on what you get in return, for example $10 gets your name in the credits and a miniature of your choice, $30 gets you a boxset and your name in the rulebook or $1000 gets you 6 buildings + both boxsets + signed rulebook (as your name is in the credits you could sign it too lol) and you get to create your very own gang (including having the models made in you and your friends/families likenesses!). Seeing as how much money I sometimes through at games I thought it would be kind of cool to get involved and be a part of it and I get some models into the bargin! Cheers Callum

Very nice Callum, as I understand it you are in line for a model in your likeness?

Yeah, I figured (excuse the pun) rather than buying another army to sit in a box never seeing the light of day, that the chance of having a character in a game named after me and in my likeness was too good a chance to pass up! I like the idea of people clambering to get the latest model to add to their collection and it being a 28/30mm old west version of me!
Could you imagine what GW could charge people to have miniatures made in their image lol.
Cheers

Lots and lots. After all, they only ever made 2 of those Peter Jackson hobbit models.

I'll buy into Blackwater Gulch, it does look good and anyone that lays down the Kickstarter dosh for an in-game character in their likeness deserves an opponent!

Cool. I have to say I'm more than a little excited about having my very own mini-me. The art for the new models looks very promising Mexican desperados and native Indians, very cool. Just a shame we have to wait till August.

Gangfight Game Studio's Kickstart project finished up last night and they managed to get over twenty one thousand dollars of support. They expect the first two box sets to be available around the begining of July and the second two in August. As far as my own model goes I will have to wait and see, but based on the lead times I would guess perhaps around November.
Yeah!

That village looks awsome. I have already, made a few buildings, bought a half dozen more (from Sarissa Precision) and the support level I gave will get me another six on top of everything else. As the game is played on a 3x3 table so I think that shouks be plenty, I also have some cacti instead of woodland but I want to add some other greenery probably some small shrubs and trees. The plan is to add some new weapons and skills, details will be in the Native box set and then a new rulebook next year with more options. In the mean time it is still possible to make a Native gang using the rules, because effectively the only difference betweens gangs is the skills you pick and weapons... so you might have to take more western weaponery than you might like but hey they bought, traded and captured plenty of guns. I migt take you up on your offer at some point in the future Cheers

So I got word from Tim (the man behind Gangfight Games) today and he has told me that I can perhaps expect the starter sets + buildings in May or June and my own miniature as early as September or October, all things going well ;D
Other than a few stipulations I have left most of the details (fluff, stats and the like) to Tim as I would rather enjoy reading the character fluff without having known exactly who and what he is before hand... it adds to the excitement ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
