Had my first game with legion last night but realised after I had messed up the rules so this should be good for getting more familiar with them.
I'll also need to place an order with you before this begins as I had given away a couple of shredders from the starter box.

That is a long time since getting your stuff to getting your first game lol. I will certainly have to reread the rules again, as I'm sure I will need to officiate once or twice over the leagues duration. No problem, send me an email with what you need and I will add them to the April order Cheers

Hello Folks, I have printed out a batch of packs to go along with the league and will start handing them out tonight (5th April) at the club, don't worry if you can't make it along this week so long as you get one before your first game you will be fine The pack contains the Journeyman league rules and details of each of the scenarios you can play during the course of the league. Or you can print your own copy yourself using the links in the original post. Cheers Callum

Hello folks,
That's the league up to ten confirmed players but I know there are more of you out there with Warmachine or Hordes armies. So don't be bashful sign up and join in the fun... maybe even win some prizes!
Next week I will be going round the club to make sure everyone is aware that the Journeyman league is starting, so if you have any questions you would want to ask about the league feel free!
Cheers
Callum

Cheers to Callum for putting in the effort to manage the league :-)
Put me down as Skorne please Callum. Even though the battlebox Warlock Morghuoul seems a little quirky, I think that the faction will look cool on the table (with a bit of luck) and I like the background material and the Skorne art direction so they're the ones for me.
I'lll put in an order for the book and the models with the next order if that's ok.

Callum, I gotta be honest and say : Its not a game that appeals to me (primarily the models - the jacks just dont do it for me..) And, from what I have heard its a bit brutal and one sided. (so no chance of a heroic comeback if you do start to lose?) That said - I am (as always) open to be proven wrong, so if you want to give me an intro game I'll be happy to give it a try.

I wouldn't say that there is no chance of a heroic comeback if you start to lose. Quite the opposite to be honest. It's a game where you can often pull victory from the jaws of defeat (or vice versa!) because of the caster-kill win condition. It's quite feasible to be totally on the ropes but pull off a killer assassination move that seals the win for you.

Well your more than welcome to a demo game anytime you fancy.
It can be very brutal, but I have enjoyed a lot very close games purely because of left field wins/loses. I think there is a stronger sence of tactics in the game compared to most, whether it be list construction, deployment, movement, activations or combinations of effects and abilities. Which is why it can sometimes feel like a steep learning curve when playing competitively or against a strong opponent. But really the game rules and balance are second to none and that is a big reason why I like the game so much, I guess it helps that I love the models and the world its set in, infact I'm really looking forward to the RPG being relaunched this summer!
Its worth taking a look at the Hordes models if the jacks do nothing for you, the game is totally compatable but looks and feels quite different.
Cheers

Hi Folks,
I just wanted to confirm that the league kit is now on order, so everyone participating will receive at least centre piece patch and then others based on what they achieve over the course of the league (see the Journeyman league rules document for details).
Cheers

Yeah the league patches arrived ;D So everyone has the chance of getting: 1: Centrepiece (Rank 1: joining the league) (the light has made them look black even though they are red) 2: Chevron (Rank 2-4: 10/20/30 league points) While only 1-3 lucky people have a chance of getting: 3: Destroyer Award (Skull): Most Game Points 4: Creator Award (Flag): Most Hobby Points 5: Journeyman Award (Crown): Most Journeyman Points Don't worry though, if more than 12 people play in the league (which would be great) I can still get extra centrepieces and chevrons Cheers Callum

Hi David, We use the MkII rules. If you have not played since they were introduced this would be a great way of becoming acquainted with the differences and also the local players. Your more than welcome to enter any of your armies, as there are lots of points on offer for painting you miniatures over the course of the league, I would recommend taking the opportunity to get some paint on your models. But it is entirely your choice Cheers Callum
