The brand new website for Stirling Wargamers is now live. For those that didn't know, the url is www.stirling-wargamers.org.ukI'd like to take this opportunity to thank club member Squinty for taking the time to create this website for the club. In addition to a whole bunch of new features that we'll be able to utilise in time, such as a web store for selling tournament tickets, the new website comes complete with an integrated forum. As it will be complicated to administer two public message forums and it will be confusing as to who posted in which forum when if looking for a particular thread or topic we'll be moving to the new forum. Therefore, with effect from Saturday May 12th, this forum will be made read-only. We'll create a link on the new website for this forum and the threads that are still here and are of value to the members. I'd also like to say that as is the case with all websites, they depend on content to be successful and the committee would like to take this opportunity to encourage all the club members to help the new website be the success that it can be. Cheers Gus

Thanks for the new website. Looks nice. Only problem is I've registered but seem to be having trouble actually posting anything. Has anyone else had this?
I click in the box where you're supposed to type the message, but the cursor appears once then vanishes, so I can't actually type anything there. This is using Chrome: I've not tried other browsers yet, but wondered whether anyone else had had similar problems...

Hi Ben
I've just created a new topic in the admin section of the new forum and posted a message successfully using Chrome.

Hi Gus,
Thanks for that. I just tried again and still no joy. Had a go with Firefox and that seems to work. So it's obviously not a general problem with Chrome, but something to do with Chrome and my computer - I'll have to try it at work and see what happens there...

Just managed to sign up now, it wouldn't let me for some reason yesterday. Just waiting on my activation e-mail to arrive. Still can't access the site on my phone though, it recognises the title Stirling Wargamers- Home of Wargaming in Stirling but won't load up the site. Anyone else having the same issue ?

Jamie, (and anyone else having similair), I had exactly same thing. Click on Tools, internet options. Click Privacy and set to Low (dont worry - nothing bad on our site and we'll put it back) Click on sites and add both of these: www.stirling-wargamers.org.ukswgtest.webs.com Click on ALLOW save that and exit explorer. Go back in, you should now be able to log in normally. Then you can go back and set your privacy to whatever it was. Squinty

Squinty Still no invite, it should be to davidr149@hotmail.com. I'm sure I put in the right address but maybe that is the problem. Also still no luck with loading up the site on my phone. Is anyone else having the same issue ? David

No idea why it's not working on mine usually the Internet on my phone is brilliant never really had any issues with other sites. Also still no received the email yet (checked all of my folders including junk and trash) but I'll try and sign up again on the PC tomorrow or Friday and see if I have any luck.
