I like to give myself painting targets too. I now have 26 days left to paint up the rest of my army for SoS I'll also guarantee that I'll change my list with about a week to go and then have to paint something else ;D

well the Romans are all finished (well 4 pilums need to be glued on, but i have no glue at the moment), 2 guardsmen are finished with another 2 on the way, 1 Ksarkin is finished, 1 Dwarf Iron Breakers are done too, and yet again some more work on the Empire General, not bad for 2 days work, though I am getting bored of painting, models seem a little same-y and I have lost interest in painting guardsmen again

I am getting bored of painting, models seem a little same-y If you are looking for something a little bit different and more creative, GW Falkirk are running a diorama competition. How about entering that and letting your imagination let fly a bit?

very tempting, but that might require cutting apart a few models, so the guard are out the question (i have just enough models to field 3 55man platoons and supports, may have bits of guys spare though) but I could always do a Warhammer one, not sure what with though, what are the catagories/rules etc for this?

Still got a week to go! But progress is good, I done 2 dwarfs, few more Guardsmen and my Romans, here are a few snaps, my Empire General is slowly coming along; A few Roman Style Dwarfs; Few guardsmen nearly done; And finally, what £6 gets you at gripping beast; Pretty cool huh?

Well I seem to have not painted for a month and a half, so I started on something fun, the Basilisk Emplacement I picked up at Conflict. Just slapped on the 4 basic colours, its very WiP but in the end will look the same colour as my regular infantry And a few hours later we have this: The sandbags are just graveyard earth, thin brown ink wash and graveyard earth over the top. Ground is scorched brown, then graveyard earth then desert yellow. Metal is boltgun, thin black wash, boltgun, then chainmail. Green is several thin catachan green coats, then highlight with catachan green plus a touch of white. Add some static grass and voila! It still has some work to be done, but for the time being its fieldable and matches the rest of the army, not bad huh?

Looks cool Gav. Maybe you could add some spotters, crew or other staff.

thats the plan for tomorrow, after physics to build up some crew (I think its a loader and a spotter, not sure but I think its only ment to be 2) and I have a few spare bits lying around so it should be too hard. I will add shovels etc just as soon as I get some superglue

Looks great. but why would an artillery piece have kill markings. They probably dont even know what they are shooting at.
Other than that its really great and i look forward to blowing it up sometime soon

It was a suggestion on warseer, plus you can fire a basilisk at point blank, that way you will know if you got a kill! Plus they probably have some guy giving them coordinates and then saying "yep.. you missed" so they will know if they get a kill. Update: Finished a 10man squad, here is a sampler Lighting is awful but there you go

looks pretty good considering its a regular guardsman, only thing id say though is he seems to have a bit of a.. "skidmark" down his leg...
