Finished building the thunderbolt i bought at games day and have drilled a hole big enough for me to stick a copper pipe to hold it up. The only problem now is that i need a colour scheme and a steady base for it to sit on. For the colour scheme i was doing it in a bone colour, the colourof the apostles (if anyones read double eagle). Any ideas would be great.

well for my thunderbolt and possibly the vulture I was going to put them on those scenic bases forgeworld do, but apprently a CD works fine, just make sure the brass rod is strong enough, did you use a pin vise for the hole, is it pinned at all and what thickness of copper you use? Looking good, mine is a bit done, yet to finish it, just cleaned and glued the hull

paint it red!
as for the base, i wouldnt go for a CD, as it lacks the depth to give support to the brass rod, i've seen table place mats used and they worked really well, possibly a bit big for gaming though. You might also want to consider making the base a scenic base of sorts, just so you can have more thickness to drill through to support that brass rod. (last thing you want is your thunderbolt toppling over)
