Hello everyone, This is an important notice for anyone that will be competing in Rapid Fire – our annual Warhammer 40,000 tournament which will be held on 27th October 2007.
We have decided that the tournament will be painted armies only. This means that no unpainted models will be allowed on the tables during the tournament.
The reason for this decision is basically to help us to raise the overall standard of the tournament for everyone involved. We know that we can put on a fun days competetive gaming for people but we should always be looking at ways in which we can raise the overall standard of the tournament experience. Playing with and against fully-painted armies goes a long way towards that goal.
So, with the tornament now over four months away I hope that this will be plenty of notice for people to get their 1750pt armies geared up for the big day.
Cheers for now Paul

Oops - my mistake re points, Neil is correct - it will be 1750pts.
Re best army - that is to be decided come the writing of the players pack. Any feedback or suggestions still have time to be taken on board.

When will the ticket be on sale & how much would they be. Also will the new codex Chaos be in use (since it been a month (well after) since release). Tickets won't be on sale for another month at least as we are still at the early stages of the players pack. They will be £10 and that will include lunch as well as coffee/croissants etc throughout the day. Re the new Chaos codex, we'll get confirmation of the codex release then any codex that is released a full month before the tourney will be in use. Neil Campbell and Donald McCallum will be leading on the design and format of the tourney though so they will be able to add details as and when the format is finalised.

Ok - slight change of plan regarding painted armies - we have decided to use the same system that we used for Storm over Stirling, our Spring WFB tourney.
Unpainted models will be allowed, but will mean that the player will score zero for painting, no-matter how well teh rest of the force is painted. This seemed to work well enough for SoS so hopefully will work well enough for Rapid Fire! too.
All the details will be in the Rapid Fire! players pack.

Haha, that lest you lot have your armies there & some stage of painting. As of tonight that the club I have now chosen, new codex chaos = new force.
I like my IW & be shame to given them there last ride in current fourm. Just with the new codex it trying make a list that I like.
So I'm now going to bring forward my Hakanor's Reavrs.
- No models as of yet (until my army deal come, well the Lord be bought on Tue) - Will not be painted until after the UK GT, so be Oct holidays in which I will only have 5 days free to paint (but then there is some college days as well) - They will not have fought a single battle until the day - It a all or nothing Mech force where it most like my Dread will blow up a few things for my oppents. Yes going be a Mech force where everthing move & fire. - Got to make plasticard armour for my tanks.
So yes I think it can be done with no trouble... mange to get a red bezerker force painted in 8 hours ;D Ohh yeah & need to learn how to use green stuff other than fill in gaps lol.
Well the first model will be bought this Tue in GW Edinbrugh & that be my Lord or that least the start of his conversion.
