May have to give this a miss guys - 2 days is a hard sell to the family to play toy soliders.
Also, I forsee that points level causing some concern. You'll be restricting players from choosing what is often the fav part of thier army, a Lord, and their second fav, their 2nd rare slot.
But best of luck anyways - I still might make it.
P.S. How did you get into the GW Events Diary - I spoke to Bek Hawkby on the phone a few weeks ago and e-mailed her all the details (as per her instructions) and yet nothing. Did you guys have to wait long?

... You'll be restricting players from choosing what is often the fav part of thier army, a Lord, and their second fav, their 2nd rare slot. Oddly we were inspired by the 2,250 system that Stirling & DWARF used (and Dundee will be using). We liked the extra points to 'rebalance' the army, so applied it to a 1,500pt game. The increase both in number and size of Core troops has given some entertaining games so far. But best of luck anyways - I still might make it. I would hope to see you there too! I might even manage to get a game in... P.S. How did you get into the GW Events Diary - I spoke to Bek Hawkby on the phone a few weeks ago and e-mailed her all the details (as per her instructions) and yet nothing. Did you guys have to wait long? Did you contact her for Stirling's Wh40k tournament? I copied the format from WD, emailed it to Beks and she got back fairly quickly to say she'd done it. As it didn't appear on tinterweb until 2-to-3-weeks later I believe she hands it over to the web guys, who then wait until the next round of updates. From there it gets picked up for WD, so Forgotten Heroes should be in the issue appearing the day before the tournament as we missed the previous deadline! TOP TIP for Storm Over Stirling: get into the Events Diary by end-November at the latest!

Hi Andy. Cool name for the tourney by the way!
Personally I really like the 1999pts limit idea as a format. I think it will force people to think hard about manoeuvre, shooting and troop combat to win the games rather than about magic item killer combos for their lords. It also means no second rare slot which will add an additional balancing factor and cut down on the Dogs of War pressure.
It will be fun to have a completely different format of tournament going on in the central belt.
Unfortunately I'll be away abroad that weekend, otherwise I'd be well up for it.

Hey, I'd be up for this, I just have to find out what is the most economic way of doing it...
Train through on both days, or finding a hotel for the night... Given that the second day is a sunday, I'm thinking trains might not be an option.

There's a four-storey Euro-Hostel on Leith Walk - all of about 3 minutes walk! About £15 for a bed, tops. We're looking at getting a group room (depending on uptake) which would lower the price.

Hello folks. Just a quick note to say that ELG still have tickets for this tournament so if you want to go please contact Dave Gilbert at ninjamolerat(at)yahoo.com.
I gather that they will also be selling tickets on the door. Cheers
