Right, lets get this thing started then. i was looking through some GW website pages and i seen the new Vampire count models. I was impressed with the troop models especially the ghouls. The characters were good models, but ive never liked the Von carteins model-wise and story-wise [They are just too classic vampire for me]. This new army made me decide to start a new army!
Although i had to decide on a theme to make it exiting and different from the other VC armies out there. Being a dabbler in World of Warcraft i was looking at some stuff on another page of my computer- The wrath of the lich king expansion. That gae me the idea to theme the army on the link with death and Ice. So the general idea is the bases being snow covered and to put some furs on the basic models. The plan for the ghouls is to make their backs covered in fur and long hair - [as they are actually men turned mad and deformed] so i thought it would be suitable.
So the coices so far to start a 500-1000 point army are as follows -
Vampire -
Using the 6th edition blood vampire model for this, keeping him basic maybe some sort of helmet or hat instead of the blood knight helmet.
Necromancer -
Unsure of the basis for this, but i was thinking about the new empire wizard box set and using some suitable parts to make this guy. I want to make this guy young in comparison to other necromancers so is still human and not been up to mischief for long.
Wight King -
Ive already got this model just in the post and received the other day, its some old Wight champion model with a big bat helmet and a dazzly sword. I like this model a lot, but unsure why.
A couple of units of zombies just to make sure, as i will proably field a few, but keep the rest for rezzing up.
A couple of skelingtons as the backbone of the troops and a unit of ghouls.
Possibly a corpsecart [infact most likely]
Graveguard unit definetly, and a unit of black knights. [ The black knights will be taken from 3 parts - Legs from empire knights, skeletal horses and uper bodies from the grave guard. The problem is that the sleletal steed it to thin for the legs of the empire knights, so im thinking of making some furs for saddles to bulk the girth of the horse]
Possibly a unit of spirit host - Im not using the models there ugly, so im going to use something else and paint it ghostly [unsure of what model/s yet]
For a rare choice im probably going to go with Wraiths just to be beardy
The colour will be a theme of blues and whites, with kinda cobalt-ish blue metallics. The zombies skin will have blue tinges as they will have been frozen to death in life! Included in the zombie crowd will be a iron maiden eddie as a 'captain'
