In my first game I played Chris Murfitt's Skaven army and massacred it.
In the second game I played Donzo and massacred him also whilst I was 1600 points under.
In the third game, Neil McKay turned up and conceded in turn 2 against me when I killed his general with a single Plaguebearer champion.
Ok, there might be a couple of untruths there... (first one being that I wasn't even there)
Congrats to the guy who won those chrome dice! How'd you manage to get your hands on them before GW released them? Through Neil/Neil/Donzo?

Almost believable apart from you had it down that you had won games Well my well travelled Maneaters and gnoblars arrived off the boat from the frozen Chaos Wastes, so I decided that they would be used for the tournament. Anyway game 1 battle report: I was paired against Dave Taylor from DWARF. I but down my small ogre army only to be confronted by a horde of beastmen that filled the opposing deployment zone. I won 1st turn and proceeded to edge forward carefully towards the enemy. My maneaters opened fire on the large unit of Slaangor taking off a rank. My magic being nullified by the enemy shamans. The beastmen replied to my opening moves my running forward with the minotaurs being shielded by warhounds, the wizards concentrating on the bull unit, 1st doom and darkness cast then a hail of magic missiles, causing the bulls to panic then flee. Turn 2 seen me manoeuvre my units setting up possible charges, or to accept charges. The exceptions being the two leadbelcher units who boosted forward to gain shots on the Minotaurs. My magic again had little affect, while my shooting killed some Minotaurs. The beastmen counterattacked, killing my leadbelchers and gnoblars trappers who pluckily killed a gor. Turn 3 I attacked in force, killing the beastherd with shaman that killed one of my leadbelcher units with the Bulls that had rallied last turn. My gnoblars fighter unit was overwhelmed by two beastmen chariots, which crushed the wee greenskins under their hoofs. An Irongut unit charged a Minotaur unit, making it run and chasing after it. My other Irongut unit smashed another beastherd with a wargor and ran them down. My shooting killing some more Minotaurs and killing a warhound unit. Beastherds and warhound units tried to charge but failed fear tests while other combats say the beastmen get squashed. A shaman left the Slaangor unit to try and magic missile the large Irongut unit that had pursued past the Slaangors chasing Minotaurs. Killing one with a dark hand of death. Turn 4 saw the maneaters open fire on the warhound unit screening the Slaangor, causing the doggies to run through the unit and panic the shaman that left the previous turn, to promptly flee off the board. The beastmen brought on 3 beast herds to claim table quarters, hidden out of sight in the far corners of the board. Turn 5. The ogres consolidated their position, turning to face the few remaining enemy units. A butcher cast toothcracker at a chariot, which Dave let go thinking 2d6 S2 hits won’t bother it. I rolled 6 hits then proceeded to roll 3 1’s to wound but 3 6’s also! This left the chariot with one wound which disappeared in the next phase when 3 maneaters shot at it with their handguns. The other maneaters killed the last remaining Minotaur. The Ironguts crashed into the Slaangor breaking them and running them down. Turn 6 seen the ogres trying to stop all the table quarters being taken with the Beastherds hiding out of sight. The game ended with a resounding massacre in the Ogres favour. It was a great game, played in a fun way, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Game 2 to follow

Game 2 was against Chris Leaf’s Empire. We were playing the Assassins mission, with extra victory points for character killing. The Empire army had an Arch Lector on horse, 2 Lvl2 wizards and a BSB. The rest of the army consisted of a unit of knights, another of Inner Circle, a huge block of swordsmen with detachments a block of greastswords with detachments, flagellants, a helblaster, cannon, handgunners and a dreaded Steam Tank! My left flank consisted for the game of my large Irongut unit and a butcher killing the handgunners with a spell then proceeding to be crushed under the wheels of the Steam tank. While a leadbelcher unit ran up to the helblaster, got shot by it which then blew up but killing a leadbelcher who then panicked and ran away. It then rallied and got shot at by archers for the rest of the game until the Engineer from the tank killed it with his pistol on turn 5.
Thankfully the rest of the battlefield went better. The right flank consisted off a unit of knights getting panicked by a butcher spell and failing by an inch from fleeing off the table. They then were peppered by rifle shots killing all but one who managed to charge the trappers, routing them but not before they finished off the cannon crew who had been leadbelchered. The lone knight managed to run and hide and live till the end of the battle. The heart of the battlefield was a bloodbath. The cannon killing two bulls before dying, the maneater handguns killing detachments and flagellants. Magic blasting Ironguts apart as well. On turn 3 the combats started to fly. The huge unit of swordsmen with a wizard and BSB were charged in the side by 2 bulls and in the front by 3 Ironguts and a leadbelcher. The resulting combat saw the swordsmen lose by 5 and fail their break test, being ran down for their trouble. The large maneater unit with my tyrant charged and overran a free company detachment and crashed into the Arch Lector with his inner circle bodyguard. The 5 impact hits from the bull charge killed 4 knights! The Arch Lector issued a challenge against the tyrant. Confident in his faith in Sigmar and his dirty tricks. Unable to and unwilling to decline, the Tyrant charged in. The Archie unveiled his Van Horstmanns Speculum, transforming my tyrant into a weedy priest. I rolled my two attacks, hitting once. I remembered under the scenario rules that the generals hate each other, so I rerolled my miss and scored another hit. I needed 3’s to wound now the Archie was T5 and me S4 basic with my Tenderiser moving that up to S6. I wounded twice, with Chris failing a 4+ save. He then reveals he has Dawn Armour so he can reroll failed saves but doesn’t manage it. The Tenderiser does D3 wounds so I roll one of my Stirling dice, and a cheeky wee red lion pops up to say hello! Killing the Arch Lector outright! I overrun into the greatsword unit but fluff my 20 attacks only killing 5 models, while the flagellants charged into my rear. I lose a maneater in the ensuing combat as well as the combat overall. I’m not too bothered as I am stubborn, until I roll an 11 for the break test! The enemy pursue and catch me killing my general! For revenge and calculated risk, I had two bulls left so I charged them into the flank of the greatswords, killing 4 bodyguards. I win the fight, which the stubborn greatswords roll a 12! The bulls savagely run them down, killing the last wizard!
The remaining turns see the ogres mop up. Killing the remaining flagellants and leaving 2 free company, 1 knight, 4 archers and the cursed steam tank alive. My casualties gave me a solid victory and a move up to table 2 for the last game! ;D

Game 3 was against Fraser the Eraser’s Vamps. I knew from the start I would struggle against an army with 14 power dice to my 4 dispel dice! It was take and hold so I bombed forward towards the objective. My large maneaters with tyrant got charged in the side by the grave guard. The Tyrant moved up to the side and proceeded to crush grave guard every turn even though the Helm of Commandment made them WS7! Other units charged into the side of the grave guard to no avail for every time they got hurt, they just went back to full strength the next magic phase! Grr! The other maneater unit killed the Varghulf in a round of combat and killed the black knights as well as taking a side charge from a ghoul unit. The butcher in with the maneaters holding his own against the ghouls due to his immunity to poison! Not much else really happened other than I killed dead people only to see the units get restored back in the magic phase! In the end Fraser’s army crowded around the objective with enough numbers that the Ogres lost by only 21vps over a draw! Overall it was a great tourney that I thoroughly enjoyed and had great fun using my ogres!

You didn't need to include the bit about armies there Chris. I did actually expect you to take your Skaven instead of your Ogres though; Skaven are more tournament-oriented. Some good and bad luck from what I read (in particular the stubborn checks on both sides in the Empire game). Looks like the games were good fun. - Scott
