Just a general question, not overly sure exactly who is into who (though I am guessing Neil aka "Muse" might be into muse). So what would you say are your top 5 favorite bands at the moment? For myself it is going to be:
Dream Theater; fantastic Prog Metal/Rock with some really interesting songs Sonic Mayhem; They do alot of game soundtracks like Quake and really hit the nail on theh head with it I think. Disturbed; A good heavy metal band I think, but not everyones cup o' tea Pendulum; because deep down inside, everybody loves Drum and Bass Joe Satriani; great guitar player, alot of genres covered (though mostly rock) and extremely cool guitar playing.
So whats your favorite bands to listen to?

I can listen to anything really, except boy bands. Top of list would be Metallica though.

Blues/classic rock FTW
Favourite artists probably Eric Clapton (mostly his 'true blues' inc. work with John Mayall) and Rory Gallagher.

His music is very blue-sy, mixed with a bit of rock/metal (which came frmo blues anyway afaik). Megadeth are good, just listened to Holy Wars, which I think is there best

Plastikman/Richie Hawtin - for deep, sophisticated, minimalist, subtle techno. Alabama 3 - for bluesy, funky, ironic, dark tunes. The Pixies - because not many people bought their records, but everyone who did started a band. Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine - clever, angry, politically sharp lyrics and punchy tunes. Johnny Cash - a legend. Felix Da House Cat - funky, glitzy, catchy house. Green Velvet - deep, hard, scary techno Stone Roses - because their first album was so sublime from start to finish.

another good band, but a pain to find, is "Live". God mellow music, light rock. I recommend "Pain Lies on the Riverside" as a sample, its my fave and to most peoples tastes

But it changes from one day to the next!

its not as good as early tallica but its better than St Anger. The songs do grow on you, and it is good to see the return on theh classic metallica "dueling guitar" sound, though their song this time around is a bit different. Eitherway I will get theh new album, I have most except St Anger

Decided that "Apocalyptica" are awesome uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8JjQGt7WjK0they cover metallica music and some other bands but Cello's, the fact someone is playing the "One" solo from metallica on a cello I can't even nail that on a guitar, I imagine a Cello is a damn sight harder, you can't tap for starters...
