On 15 November, [elg] are running a joint 40k/WFB tournament at our space in Edinburgh. This is similar in feel to the Doubles event we ran 18 months past: an ice-breaker with food and a call to the pub/restaurant afterwards! In short, we have 10 tables that we'd like to fill with 20 players from both in- and out-of-town. Choose your game and let us know which one you'll be playing; fingers crossed for an even split... - Warhammer 40,000: 1,500-pts
- Warhammer Fantasy: 2000-points
- GW's UK GT-Heat rules
- 3 games of your chosen system with slight tweaks from the GT scenarios
- Lunch and doughnuts
Prizes will include Best General and Best Army amongst others Please note that you must be 16 or older to participate. Tickets are limited and available in advance costing £10/£6(*). This covers food and room hire as we're trialling a paperless pre-tournament format. email us for detailsCheers, Andy (*) - If you have an [elg] membership then you play for free and only pay for the food. Jamie - you're already pre-booked, mate

Check out the GW UK Throne of Skulls packs for the general direction of the rules packs. However, it must be said that we like to innovate - and we like overall hobby more than just gaming - so the packs do have a couple of interesting things. I'll list some of the other features from those above for you: - 0-60 points for game result
- 0 or 20 points for painting (it's the old 'fully painted or not' system)
- 0-20 points for Jokers. When played, the Joker immediately gains you 5 points. Because they hinder you, if you go on to win the game you get a further 5 points.
- WFB is three Pitched Battles (modified by Jokers), 40k is one of each from the rulebook (modified by Jokers).
We're currently at 12 players out of 20 - that's 6 for each system. It should be noted that 3 of the players are 'maybes' and were waiting for this email. As this is a 'mixer' tournament (remember there's a WFB mixer at Stirling Wargamers on 2nd November - email me for details) we're expecting a good mix of people to turn up, so bring some mates.... The standard £10 for non-members, £6 for members as we promised they could play free (but not eat free!). Any questions, just let me know. I'll be asking for money soon Cheers, Andy

I'd like to try and make it through for this Andy (WFB), I'll need to re-juggle a couple of other things but I hope to sort it...
