As promised in the thread relating to the cancelling of the Saturday sessions, linked below is a form which members can use to vote on the issue of whether or not members would agree to a blanket increase in attendance fees to offset the cost and re-instate the Saturday sessions. stirlingwargamers.50webs.com/files/MembersBallotSlip.pdfMembers should feel free to either return their vote by printing out the form and returning it to any committee member or by replying via e-mail to info@stirling-wargamers.org.uk Cheers Gus

Just one question Gus will there be voting slips available at the club for voting tomorrow night ? If not I'll send in my vote but it's probably easier for some people just to fill them in on the night.

One quick question, how do you put your X on the PDF file (as there does not seem to be any obvious option to do so)?
Edit: Is it also necessary for the increase of £1 rather than 50p? Obviously I dont have access to the finacial information to found any figures on (no pun intended) and dont expect them to be put up here for the world to see.

Already sent a PM with my view & some idea which I hope help toward keep the Sat session. But to the Ballot I personial would not mind pay more if it help the club. As you got to support your local club much like you need to support yout local Games Workshop. But same time with the Sat session how is this really going to help if the memeber don't really commit (work/job not include when I mean this as it understandible, work come first alway) & we keep getting the Nov session all over again with only a few people turn up that not really make it worth while/we still loss money Don't get me wrong I like Sat session & belive since I attend the club in 07 I only miss one due to a tournament in Edinbrugh. I want nothing more than the Sat session to keep going on. As it good for those who are not able to make it on the Thur or for the younger memeber it mean another day out. As that what great about the wargaming hobby is that it very social. But regardless how much it price rise, if people don't commit to the Sat session we are still going to loss money that will effect our usely Thur gaming night IMO. Which will be a big kick to the balls. Not only that but the knock on effect for us who are having to travel be it fule for the car, or getting trains & taxi (for me if I do not get a lift, then I am looking that a possible £26 on travl which include food before I pay my club fund for a Sat session, so that would be a big loss to myself if we have Nov session all over again). Only to have a low turn out. Maybe I don't understand the money side of thing. But that just my view & also the knock on effect, if we keep getting the Nov session all over again/low turn out's, it still going to be money thrown down the toliet regardless of the cost for memebership (unless it £10 per memeber in the end ). However if enought people can commit (free time permitting) to the Sat session instead of once in a blue moon, just when ever they can (again work & all that not included when I mean this since it understandible) then this Sat session would not be a issue with the lost of to much money as we had during last year. Again Nov as the exsample loss £40ish. If this new payment it would be £37 we lost for exsample, still a lot for a Sat session. As said I want nothing more than Sat session to keep going, as said I only miss one due to a event, but people need to look that both side of thing & understand the knock on effect IMO ;D See the image from all area as you will, not focuse on one area. I just personial don't think the price rise will have much effect if people don't commit to the Sat session & just led to more money being thrown out. Like I said, I pm some idea that hopeful help the Sat session stay ;D It nice having them. Jamie

Just out of interest, has the cost of the hall gone up at all in recent years?
As far as I can remember the club has always been £3 (£2 for members). Now its a fact of life really that cost of living goes up, and I can't imagine any reasonable person would grudge an extra £1 (or 50p) to keep the club running - especially if the hall costs have ever increased.
Something else to look at is how much do other gaming clubs charge? is £3 cheap or expensive comparatively.
I've also got a few opinions on the Saturday sessions, but I'll save those for the AGM.

As someone who occaisonally attends other clubs I know that at DWARF they only charge £1 and at ELG as a non member it is free if you haven't attended in a certain amount of months not sure on what they charge their members but I don't think it is any more than £2. So £3/£4 is quite expensive in comparison. As far as I'm aware the hall costs haven't gone up but I can't say for sure Gus or Chris would be able to give a definite answer.

I can confirm that the cost of the hall is the same today as it was when the club was set up 6 years ago.
I can also confirm that the number of members at the club has fallen slightly every year since 2006 and therefore less people coming along in general.

I won't be able to get to the AGM, so I'll cast my (not-so-secret) ballot here if I may.
I vote that the price of the all-day session should stay the same.
The reason being that I don't think it's the price that is the deciding factor for people when they wonder whether to go to the session or not. I think it makes no odds whether people pay £2 or £10 each, if only a few people come, the day cannot be thought of as a success.
Rather, I think that the answer lies in publicity and pre-planning games for people. Getting something in the diary in advance is what gets people along. If people have no plans for the day, they are likely to end up doing something else that crops up in life instead.
