Right, well, in a bid to encourage more painted models, how about a little club challenge?
A year long painting extravaganza, basically, collecting and painting an army either to a set point limit, or budget.
I'm torn between doing either a set point limit, as it gets a bit out of whack between systems. 200 points of Warhammer is a breeze, 200 points of WARMACHINE is rather a lot more... Although, the title Stirling Wargamers 200 Club has a nice ring to it.
Under a budget system, I'm thinking a combined total of £60 for January and February, to allow a battalion box or starter set purchase, followed by £25 a month from March through to December. All models used should be based on RRP, to avoid any sneaky dealings through ebay, online retailers or swaps. Again, depending what you fancy doing, you can still get a lot of minis for that initial £60. Anybody fancying a WAB army could do worse than the Perry's plastic War of the Roses models (which would work as Empire models) or a Mantic battleset, which is where I think I'll begin, although, I'm tempted with doing a HORDES force.
So, really, you could pick any army for any system, and get building and priming as I envision a January 1st kick-off.
Any comments, criticisms, queries, fire away.

I'd be up for it.
It would possible be Blood Angels for 40k, still working on a army list right now. If not then possible my new Wolf Wing army (Space Wolves terminator army) Most likey be up for the point limit side per month as I already have a pile of Death Company boxies in my room all bought from our local GW ;D All waiting to be built & was aim for my Blood Angels project to start in Jan anyway as a new tournament force.
As per month, it will fit in well with the Storm Raven being release in Feb as well.

It isn't a way of forcing people to go out and spend £25 a month, just a universal constant across what could be numerous game systems. Just a case of selecting what part of your backlog you want to clear first. You could be sitting with £300 worth of models all built and primed and ready to go, or SFA and a pocketful of Christmas spends.

Might be worth give a shout out on this that the club. Let memeber who do not check these fourms to know about this & take part.
It kill two birds with one stone. In term it should hopeful make the fourm a bit more busy as already point out else where. It will also allow the younger games of our club get into a habit of painting as I know the like of Aj he talk about find it a bit hard to paint.
By this I mean, I find myself have set dead line like a tournament it help me focuse on getting my models painted like my Space Wolves or self set dead line like my Dark Eldar.
Just more to get people into the habit of painting & show some that it not as hard as it seems, even if painting maybe not there favrout part of the army, seen that army fully painted should hopeful put some faith into them.
As for the fourm part, if any of them struggle with photos, sure a few of us can take photos of there models for them to do a little update on there armies.
But again might be worth given a shout, like the small tournament that are about to be launch.
Just some though, also more so with this possible starting in Jan, Christmas is coming. No matter which wargame we play, no dout will have new stuff for it for the Christmas.
