I always quite liked Grey Knights, so glad they're not simply forgotten about, but I'm not so sure about them having their own army.

Warseer now has a list of rumour up, bare in mind none of this is solid so some bits maybe wrong or may/may not happen when the codex is release www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=292329Overall I am likeing what I read so far. Defo have a Grey Knight army on the go. Just wish there was a clear image on the whole army as I want to see what the kits look like. Was planning to use a fair bit of Grey Knight models/bits though out my Raven Wing force as well. By rumour it seem the Grey Knights are a little cheaper & it good to see Terminators roughly the same price as Marine once. Going to be a army you'll need to be careful how to play. Not have it as a all eggs in one basket Grand Master Mordrack sound cool with his rule Or Paladin Squad is a unit to keep a eye on apprently they are two wound Terminators who can be upgreaded to Apothecary, so feel no pain. Apprently can be a squad of 1 min. So judge by the rumours you can have a army with just three models (HQ who allow Paladin as troops) & 2x storm raven along with the new Dreadknight, would just be over 1000pts Some time a Daemonic attack or chaos become to much for a squad or two of Grey Knights. Like the First War for Armageddom for exsample when 100 Grey Knight Terminators came to the help of the Space Wolves led by Logan & the Guard armies of Armageddom where battle the World Eater & there Daemonic allies. wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/First_War_for_ArmageddonOr though out the 13th Black Crusade world wide campign back in 2003?? when Chaos attack through out the Cadain sector. wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/13th_Black_CrusadeWhich even after words would see a Grey Knight strike force taken on some Space Marines Chapter like the Relictors who where useing Chaos Weapons against Chaos, however that the cost of leave or kill there own Imperial allies. Bring them down due to belive the Chapter being tainted. Nothing bad like, just show why a whole army of GK might be use or called upon background wise. Gaming wise, they will just look cool with the way GW plastics have been (Space Hulk, Space Wolves, Sanguinary guards for Blood Angels just a few exsample) & nothing cooler than really nice new models on the gaming table ;D Just wish there where some clearer photos of the Grey Knights models so I can start planning conversion & how I want my own force to look. Like wise how I can use some of the Grey Knights kits in my Ravenwing force for conversion.

I don't deny that Grey Knights might fight army-sized battles occasionally, but it would be pretty rare (and I wouldn't mind if GW had just left fans to invent their own army rules if they wanted to represent such rare occurrences). I'd prefer to see Genestealer cults, LofD and maybe even Squats reinstated, rather than GK given their own codex.

ARE YOU MENTAL? ?? Squats and Genestealer cults are far more common than Grey Knights---------------NOT Maybe the fans could invent their own rules for them. You need to stop dreaming about days gone by and start gaming in the present.

Squats and Genestealer cults are far more common than Grey Knights---------------NOT I'm not sure what point you're making. Are you referring to what would be more common in the actual 40k universe given the background fluff? Or which armies are more common amongst real life collectors? If the former, then I'd say I'm unconvinced that sole Grey Knight armies would be more common than Genestealer cults - though obviously a lot depends on the size of the army in question. If the latter, well it may now be the case that we see lots of people buying GK armies and no one buying Genestealers, but that's because GW are (currently) supporting GK and not Genestealers. Given that I'm criticizing GW policy here, I'm not sure that citing collector behaviour responsive to that policy is really an adequate reply. In general, I don't like GW encouraging people to spend huge amounts of time and money on an army only to have the army arbitrarily discontinued. Thankfully my old Genestealer cult army never got very far, but it happened again to a friend of mine with LotD (he specifically asked in store whether the army would be continually supported - but, despite receiving assurances, it was shortly discontinued). I bet all those people who rush out and buy GK armies now will feel the same, if GW decide to axe them in a couple of years... As for the suggestion of inventing your own rules - always a possibility true, but probably easier for a GK army (I'm assuming GKs should still exist) than a totally new one (like Genestealers or Squats) when the main characters have basically been eliminated from the game/background. </rant>

But you can still use the Legion of the Damned (LotD) in a Space Marine force as an Elites choice. Unless you meant the Lost and the Damned (Latd) who now are...
