Indeed. Had it been listed as simply a Arabian/Middle-Eastern/Desert compound no-one would have been any wiser.
It's a shame when some people take a gaming hobby just a little too far, which extends from becoming aggressive or violent when losing to making (or reacting to) supposed political statements.

Funny - I saw a 3D CGI image of that compound in the paper yesterday and wondered how long it would be until it was rendered for Call of Duty / Battlefield map by the communities.
Gaming didnt cross my mind though..

Personally I don't think its taking it too far, but it really depends on what the creator was thinking, as Gus said when politics/religion gets involved things always get more complicated! But for me I don't see how this should be any different to re-enacting any real life battle, I am sure there are many games where you could re-enact Operation Gothic Serpent (aka '1993 Battle of Mogadishu', aka 'Black Hawk Down') which was a very similar operation.
