A few people have shown interst in this and as such i would like to get an official guage on this to see if a campaign would be viable or just a few games is more the demand. For people who dont know what Mordheim is, it is a GW specialist game which is a bit like Necramunda(sP) except for Fantasy. It is based on a city called Mordheim and you are treasure hunters looking for wyrdstone from a recent comet. www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?community=&catId=cat200208&categoryId=1100010&aId=5300009So if you could post in this topic showing your interest in playing and note if you are interested in one off games or a more structured campaign. I think a campaign is quite viable as you can have several players on one board which leads to interesting alliances and becomes a very sociable game. Ill start it off.... I would like a campaign, over a few months and will be using dwarfs most likely. Thanks Mark

Depend what sort of time your looking that??
I was going to start a Witch-hunter warband a while back & did make a start. Though lost my list since then. But same time I do have a Chaos Warband I got for free agies & agies ago I can use if all else fail.

I'd definitely be up for this, but I've never played before so it'd be nice to get a few one-off games in before a campaign.
I'm tempted by undead, possessed, and skaven, but probably inclined to play humans, since I have some Perry historical figures and Empire state troops I don't have much other use for.

In for a campaign and it would most likely be Reiklanders I would play.
Unless you can go an elf?

yea gus there are some unofficial lists with varying balances, it would be to the discretion of the group if they are allowed, some are broken (dark elves) some are fine. ben, yea to be honest i am rusty also, it been several years since i played. If a campaign were to start i would expect it to start mid to end of June. So give times for practice games, warband building and generally time to prepare. I will find my book and also see if gus could get a couple printed out for the club. This Thursday we can chat about extras to the game because there are some extra rules etc. (off top of my head) that are not usually used. We can also set out a time frame etc, but i think the added bonus is more than one on one which is enjoyable because if say one warband is getting overpowered. It is easy for a few warbands to team against him, which can return some balance to the games, even if you miss some. Catchya Thursday. Have exams so may not be on here as much as usual Mark

Playing more than 1 v 1 will need house rules written Mark.
Mordheim uses the same phasings as WHFB and so will suffer from the same failings as multiplayer WHFB.
The biggest one off the top of my head is combat - getting to fight 2 or more rounds of combat every turn will create monsters quickly
Yeah Gus, theres Elf rules - I'll more than likely have them around somewhere.

The GW website has rules for some of the 'extra' warbands, such as dwarfs and beastmen. It doesn't, so far as I can see, include orcs or elves anywhere. (My understanding is that there were official lists for such races and that presumably they would be somewhat balanced - unlike some of the unofficial fan lists - but it's a problem if not everyone has access to them.)
Having not played, I'm not in a great position to say how multi-player would work, but it looks to me like the rules would allow it fairly easily. In each player's combat phase any of his models can fight and anyone they're fighting can fight back. Having said that, I'd hope that no warband would reach a rating such that they're taking on two others at once.

Well I did a bit a google-fu last night and it seems that the Shadow Warrior list was as dropped as an official warband from the game due to being so broken that it would actually ruin any game.
So...anyone mind I still use them?
Reiklanders it is I think.

Shadow Warrior = elf? Without having seen the list, or played the game, obviously I'm in no position to say whether they're 'broken' or not. If they were officially dropped, however, that can't be a good sign. I suppose we need someone in charge of the campaign to arbitrate on rules. Having looked round Warseer etc it looks like lots of people prefer adding tweaks to the rules (e.g. a to hit penalty for fighting with two weapons or an added bonus for shields). I'd also like to settle our WYSIWYG policy before assembling my warband. In the past (with Necromunda) I've generally played this 'within reason' rather than strictly. That is, it should be clear what a model is and what their main weapon is, but I don't want to have to model everyone with and without helmets for example. Also it looks like the rules allow you to have a brace of pistols, a crossbow, a double handed axe and a spear - but putting all of those on one model would look silly. (Though perhaps it could be said giving all those to one person is silly...) I think I'm probably doing Reiklanders too by the way. Or at least, Reiklanders by rules - I'll probably use a different colour scheme. For anyone interested, Empire uniforms are here: homepages.tesco.net/r.furlong/warmaster/filesroot/uniforms.pdf(That actually raises another point about which warbands are allowed - the core rules only have Reikland, Marienburg, and Middenheim, but I gather there are rules out there somewhere for other human factions...)

Well I dont mind running it. And we can discuss specifics on Thursday.
With small warbands it is very easy to have more than one v one due to quick turns. It can lead to teaming up but is an option if a few lower bands fancy taking on someone who had a good run!
Either way im easy I'll have to hoak out my book and have a gander. I have an exam next Monday so probably will be on the back burner till then.
But will talk on Thursday as I think more gets sorted in person

I really like Mordheim so I could be in with Skaven or Witch Hunters.
Shadow Warriors were dropped for being broken but also for not fitting in with the Mordheim story.
I've played multiplayer a couple of times and it never really worked very well. Much better as a two player in my opinion.
The club has plenty of purpose-built scenery. Some of it could do with a few running repairs I think.

Found this... tabletopgeeks.com/mordheim-roster-builder/online roster maker for Mordheim warbands. Only had a quick glance, will check it out fully later - first glance looks like you can also login and save the warband to modify as the campaign goes on. Squinty
