Well Death Angel first it was an 5 minute set up and about 20 minute game as the genestealers ripped my Space Marines apart, plays like the space hulk boardgame but without minis quick and blood thirsty nice game and cards are amazing Good game well worth dropping the cash on it has two expansions out now too

Second up is Space infantry This is a more tactical and longer game, again only took about 5 minutes to set up and about 30 minutes to play one single mission using basic rules, there are options for advance rules and a campaign with experience etc This time around I colleges the first mission with 5 turns to spare and no causalities, againnice components and good feeling of squad control as you decide who is in your team and what equipment to take on the mission Looking forward to the campaign on this, the space infantry even get an APC on a couple of missions Last up will be hornet leader it's a biggy so will maybe just post a set up shot and comment to follow

Ive played Death Angel with Paul a few times - its a great game, captures the feel of space hulk better than I expected it to.

Thanks for posting up those games; I'm always interested to see solitaire options for boardgaming (Oona gets bored after six or seven hours ...) Played Death Angel a fair bit and it plays well solitaire and co-op but I'm not familiar with the other two. What are your thoughts on their mechanics and their theme? Quite often the games that play solitaire are the games that are designed as co-op games but have you played Race for the Galaxy by Tom Lehmann (Rio Grande Games)? www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/28143/race-for-the-galaxyIt is a competitive game in multiplayer but has a set of solitaire rules (released within the first expansion - Gathering Storm) that model a tough opponent in some innovative ways. It has hundreds of nice cards and once you get your head around the fairly deep icon system the mechanics are good. It's a heavy game dressed up in some simple game mechanics and it's certainly one I'd recommend as a solo option (with the expansions).

Cheers fir the new game to look at Paul
Both games have some similar themes running throughout, both have a squad element and you are in charge of selecting both squad members and equipment
I can see these parts of the game taking more time during campaigns as you decide tosend out your experienced members or newbies
Space infantry is the simpler of the two with a cup of random numbers being the main mechanic and all target numbers being between 2 and 5 with multiples counting over so a skill of 3 with a result of 6 is 2 successes
Hornet leader has more events that can affect the missions and uses a basic d10 roll over target, this one ismore about planning and resource management as you need to rake a payload that will be effective for your main target and any other opposition if you pick the wrong missiles or bombs you won't succeed.
So far only played each game once but happy with them good alternative yo sitting infront of PS3 or XBOX

The real question is -
Are they easier to play than having your fingers stuck in several places in a Fighting Fantasy gamebook?
