Well after much running around like headless chickens we put on our table at Conflict yesterday and it was a really really good day. We put on a participation game - The Siege of Baagenhoff and we were lucky enough to have a couple of fantastic siege engines built by the legendary Orky Paul of Falkirk. Gavin, Duncan and Neil all helped loads and between us we managed to play out four siege games, during which plenty of kids got stuck in, taking control of the greenskin attackers of the Empire defenders. Here's some shots of the table: Our nice banner - Siege engines! - Baagenhoff - It was a really positive day on loads of fronts. We met plenty of people interested in what we do here at Stirling Wargamers and we met plenty of people who do their own cool stuff. We caught up with Andy and co from ELG and bumped into a few old pals to. As a bonus, we got voted joint-best table alongside St Aidens who also ran a cool siege game.

Neil is looking very red in one of those pictures, very chuffed that swarg won joint best table, it got quite alot of interest on the day, Orcs got 3 Victories, and the Empire a mere 1, so it was fairly balanced

I spy a few younger members of D.W.A.R.F in those pictures.
Display looks the business, Just a pity that the mighty Empire was beaten 3 times. I'm starting to wish i'd made the effort to get a ticket and head along.
I was going to participate but as usual i left it to the last minute and there was no tickets available. Probably should have just got an open ticket but i'd have spent a fortune on unneccessary figures and been divorced on my return home.

Wow, those siege engines are amazing! The paintjobs are fantastic! I'm not sure about the engineering behind the squiggoth one though... what are those wheels on chains supposed to do??
Did you decide against running the Mordheim games inside the castle? Doesn't seem to be much activity in there...
And by the way, the Stirling Wargamers Banner is quite impressive. We should bust that out more often!

The Mordheim scenarios running behind the castle walls were dropped as it was too much work too late in the day. In the end I think that implementing the skirmish elements would have been too fiddly anyway. It worked well as a simple narrative-driven siege.

I had an absolutly great day at Conflict I felt a bit usless at bits due to the fact that i cant play Fantisy but i gave it my best shot.
I look like i spent a day in the sun in that picture and you can even see me pointing in the first one.
cant wait to the next show, where hopfully i can lend a hand again. Even if the young kids no more about the game than i do.
Ohhh got my Valkyrie as well. nightmare to put together but looks soo good.

Vulture was a pain too, one bit was even missing, but I got it coming in the post, the resin being warped was a pain too

... the resin being warped was a pain too Comes with the [resin] territory. A bowl of warm water, hold the piece in it for a couple of seconds, remove, bend to shape (straighten?) and you're done. The Slaanesh Daemon 'hair' has the opposite problem in that it needs to be warped!
