Hi everone
For those who do not know, the Scottish Conflict happen on the 13th April from what I've heard & will still be in double format (sp?).
Just woundering if anyone from the club will be attending as a watcher or gaming.
I've still to talk to Greame but if he got the day off his Blood Angels will be allies with my Marine force... just unsure if I want Iron Hands or keep going with my Deathwatch theme (Bikers & Termies). Ether way I have until my gap week (end of Feb) to chose & then get the army fully painted.
So anyone else attending?? Also will the club be holding any gaming table like last year??

Who cares how good your partner is? *move back* *shoot* *move back* *shoot*
I'll spare you more excitement and say that I haven't decided if I'm going but if I do it's with the Necrons.

Well two week until the event. How everone getting on with there armies for Conflict.
Right now, I've fought one game where I won it vs Craig though I do feel sorry for hiden/trying to snipe his heavy weapons. Just he use a Anti tank heavy force (well 3 Las & a Pred). My stuff can move & fire.
Not sure if Graeme had any games yet?? though we both aim to get one the Thur before the event.
Painting front, well after finding out though Death Company set up as Elites, they do not take up a Elite slot so mean we need one Elites in there. Easy said than done just mean having to make one of my two Dreadnoughts as Venrable with Assault cannon (130pts) instead of normal Dread with Twin Las (130pts). Would like to have keep the Las, but not enough pts & I dout see to many heavy armour.
So just paint that one Assault cannon arm.
Looking forward to the day & just some R&R time with all the work I got on that college.

I'm going to have to miss out on this one I'm afraid. Its a shame as I enjoyed going along last year. I've got a wee triathlon course to drag my sorry arse around on that day. First event of the season so it's time to see if any of that winter training has paid off...

Well we got 1st, 2nd & best painted for Lord of the Rings Myself & I also hope Graham had a good time there, fought 3 good games through there was a few rule question but they got sorted with out any ref. game 1 - Chaos, we won that with little loss with the Chaos guy with ONE unit under 50% Game 2 - was swing back & forward, they just won other wise would been a draw, good people & there from the Bolter&chainsword fourm. Game 3 - I was tired & almost fallen asleep, while Graham was starting to feel unwell (after the game he headed home as he was not looking well). We loss badly BUT we put up a good fight & also my Iron Hands Dreadnought rocks, from round 2 on word keep roll nothing but 6's be it a Lascannon shot vs tanks/guys, Storm Bolter taken on Land Speeders & in Combat vs a Chaplain. While Graham unit of assault marine just rip everthing on round 2 (2-3 unit of fire warriors, 1-2 pathfinder Eldar) Was a good day, but way to tired. Meet many old friends, to many I had to say sorry to a few & say I meet them in 5-10 mins while I went to met others. My voice is pretty much gone now after a week solid of Intros in GW Edinbrugh Also my Deathwatch Kill team was among top 5 for best painted armies on 40k from what I was told. Army only took 2 days to paint... + 1 day of building ;D lol (ha, take that Gus (rapided fire with Black Legion, your talking that I should paint more than game in store & got it done ) So a good day, meet many people. I just want my bed now so I think a early night. Will get a proper report up ether tonight or tomorrow who knows?? Nice one, Jamie Graham and I were there with our Shooty Orks. The army consisted of 2 dreadnaughts, 2 war tracks with twlnkd rokkitz, 4 killa kans and 24 lootas, all split half and half for each of us.
Game 1: "Cheating bastards!" we lost by the fact that they were as jamie says "Cheating bastards". it was a dark eldar Ork alliance, he used raiders to get his bit tough combaty bastard of a dark eldar into combat on first turn with the stupid 'turn the raider sideways to get an extra 2.5" of movement for free' then fleeted. Went straight for one of the loota sqauds. that sort of swept the army. Later we realised that they were cheating bastards, they had 3 HQ: the big Deldar guy, a Ork psycho and a big mek with a shokkattack gun. bastards.
They were also cheating bastards because they had the cheek to come to us when we were playing game three to say "oh! you! eh we got 1820 points on the first game?" making sound like we killed 180 ponts? when we killed the big mek, the deldar guy, a squad of ork boys 2 raiders, a squad of witches and something else.
Game 2: This was a fun game: an army of genestealers and a Brood guy. this was a case of saying "lootas get 36 shots, take that squad off". We were killing 2 squads a turn, the genestealers did manage to kill all the walkers before the only had one guy left on turn 6. the aim of the game was recon though, we managed to get the traks intot he enemy deployment zone. They were a decent couple of lads, with a proper dead pile.
Game 3: Sisters Of Battle, objective take and hold, it consisted of a 2 pence piece until the 4th turn then it turned into a mint humbug. This time we killed eery single model in the SoB army and only lost two tracks and 2 killa kans, and managed to get the remaindr of the army within the 12 inches of the humbug.
I enjoyed the last two games as they were fun, and not cheating bastards.
