Well that was an eventful week! Oona and I have been away with the Triathlon Club for what was meant to be a week of sunny, hilly, hard cycling on good roads ahead of the new triathlon season. Mallorca is a traditional destination because the weather is so good, the roads are excellent, the cars are not aggressive, ad the hotel is totally geared towards cycling/running/swimming. Anyway - all did not go to plan. On day one the weather was awful, as per this video - We shouldn't have gone for it at all but twenty of us headed out. There were two separate accidents that totalled three people in hospital, including Oona with a broken rib, another friend with a broken rib and another with a broken collar bone. After that we did get the weather we wanted and so here are a couple of snaps of how things are meant to be: Hard climbs in lovely scenery but rewarded with fantastic descents. One brutal one-hour climb had an 18km descent where we hit 65km per hour. How cool is this road! : We also got to see how it's really done when a pro race came through town. Here are the first group of about 100 cyclists that came through:
