Hi all. Spent a fortune at Forgeworld in an effort to put together a 1000pt Death korps force. I got 4 infintry squads, 1 command squad, 3 heavy bolter teams, 1 lascannon team, 1 DKoK alpha pattern leman russ and a Hellhound (vant remember the name of the pattern. I also have a chimera that is very WIP so I thought I would post a wee log here. The first photos show the WIP chimera (with mud, lots of mud) and some pictures of the troops first up the mound of packets Next is a close up of the troops and finally my chimera

Ok, second post. Heres a pic of an unpainted dude and a WIP test model. I'm using a simple grey scheme with brown for boots, gloves, leather etc. sorry but the painted pics are a little fuzzy. I'll take better pics tomorrow

The models are gorgeous and I'm looking forward to seeing it all come together. However, your camera is perfectly focussed on your paint-pots in the background! I would drop some sloping card behined the model and the camera might pick it up more readily.

Seeing those figure just inspired me to start 40k again with another Guard army. I popped over to the Forgeworld site and a lot of that inspiration drained away after seeing the prices. Now i wish i never sold all of my Guard Oh well, might consider Tau now I'll be checking back to see your progress with this army, i for one am looking forward to seeing it on it's completion, if it's actually ever possible to complete an army that is ;D

Wow. Pretty awesome.
What I have to say though, is that from here the base looks a little un-textured. How happy are you with the look? I'd have to see it in the flesh to actually know, but it looks like it could do with more texturing to make it feel like part of the chaotic melee that is a battlefield.

I've gave them muddy bases. I used tile filler on the base and painted it scorched brown with a bestial brown brybrush, followed by a layer of varnish to give it a wet look. Looks ok in the flesh but doesnt seem to look so good in the photo I just suck at taking pictures!
