You need people to give there opinions on ideas as they may see things that others have not. So dont take the critisism personaly, all aspects of ideas have to be looked at so we can do the best ones, with the best support of the members. I dont think anything bad was ment with the discount bit.
I would put in the quote but i dont know how.

If this etc thing goes ahead that could be a saturday session as they dont need all the tables. The only thing i would say is dont just use it for random games have an event planned. Could be a trial run for new look saturday sessions.

I’m not sure if this has been suggested or not but would more people attend the all day session if it was on a Sunday instead of Saturday?

I would put in the quote but i dont know how. Donald - find the post you want to quote and look on the right-hand side of it - there is a link called Quote. Hit that and it opens a reply box that includes the post you want to quote. Delete all the text you don't want but leave in the stuff in square brackets at the start and end of the quote. Then you can add in your bit after.

Ok I'am a member of Falkirk District Wargames Club and would be willing to come up to Stirling one Saturday and run a game for your members, but the game would not be 40K or Warhammer Fantasys. It would be a World War 2 air combat game.So how many of your members would be willing to try something different for a change. This game can be played by 10+ players and the rules are very easy and anyone can play.

What game would that be Kenny?
Either way, it certainly sounds like something that a lot of players could have a lot of fun with over the course of a day and I appreciate that you would be willing to come down to do that.

The game i would be running is called Defending The Reich.I have so far play a 4 year campaign at the Falkirk club.It work like this i control the US airforce planes 21 B17 or B24 heavy bombers and the members of the Stirling club control the German fighters,so if 10 people want to play they get to control 2 to 4 German fighters each,so you could have up to 40 German planes on the table at the one time.A 6 foot table top is called a zone and there can be up to 5 zones in a game,It takes the bombers 4 turn to fly a zone,so a game can last from 8 turns to 40 turns afterall the bombers have to fly back to England. Now you may think what chance do the bombers have of getting to there target, well the US player also get some escorting fighters. So who thinks they can become a German fighter ace

Kenny sounds great. If I can get to a saturday I'll probably run a game of Descent but I'd like to have a nosey at that game too!

What about a painting day? Or even just an area off to the side for people to be able to paint?
Of course, I'm only off every second weekend, and it would be dependant on when the boss is working (unless I could pap the kids off to the grandparents)
The Glasgow Uni gaming club used to hire out a couple of rooms in the QMU on a Saturday, and it always made a nice change to go and sit about with a bunch of people doing some painting and having a general natter, as opposed to sitting alone hunched over a desk.
It's not a revolutionary idea, but sometimes, just having people to spur you on or bounce ideas off of can make all the difference.
