After getting feedback from most participants, we'll NOT be using the tournament restrictions. As I said above I wasn't too bothered either way but it's good to be able to reach a majority decision.
So the league will go ahead on Thursday with the above rules in place (note I changed rule 7 slightly to allow for a bit more flexibility but at the same time not allowing people to run away with the league when others haven't played as many games).

Yeah I was pretty sure that was the one I'd linked you to, I too thought it was the most recent version. That's great if you can get copies of 1.5 to the club on thursday. Then this should be postponed by at least a week to ensure everyone knows....!!! Cant make major changes the night it goes live... (from WHI 1.5 FAQ) Banned List The following cards are banned for LCG tournament play. A player cannot use these cards in his deck. 8 Visit the Haunted City I thought this was a fun friendly league not LCG tournament play?? Swap me to Orcs if thats the case and I'll swap to a proper no pals tournament list. Squinty PS.. If we're using tournie lists can we play more than 1 game a week then? ) With the exception of you and Donzo I have every other participants mobile numbers so can text them in the morning to look at 1.5 meaning we shouldn't have to postpone. It is a bit unfortunate that we hadn't seen the latest FAQ but if you can let Donzo know then we all have at least 5 days to look it over online and build a deck. As far as following the tournament rules I'm not overly bothered either way and if I can get enough responses tomorrow to make a majority ruling then I'm happy to allow any cards just need to get enough replies tomorrow to allow everyone to get deck building before Thursday.

Well the FAQ I printed out and gave to everyone at the club was v1.4 as that was the version I was asked to print out. Nothing nasty in that sentence above, it was news to me as well that v1.5 was available I'll have copies of v1.5 for everyone come Thursday night. Yeah I was pretty sure that was the one I'd linked you to, I too thought it was the most recent version. That's great if you can get copies of 1.5 to the club on thursday.

For clarification : When you refer to alliances of Skaven, Brets, Lizards etc, these are not alliances. Those are neutrals. Alliances are I believe specifically faction alliances, which as I understand it are banned. It's just a clarity thing. No problem originally I hadn't put in any rules about that but there seemed to be some confusion about it at the club with people unsure on whether Skaven etc. counted as allies so thought I better include to make sure. You refer to FAQ 1.4 - The FAQ is currently version 1.5. I assume that's what you mean? Gus printed out a few copies of an FAQ and we handed them out at the club, I think it was 1.4 but hopefully it was 1.5 as we want to be playing with the most up to date rules. Will the league be using tournament play rules from the FAQ/errata? Specifically this has a list of restricted (one card) cards. Tournament play also bans " Visit the Haunted City" I don't mind either way, just need to be clear. I've had to think about this and I've decided that the league should follow the restrictions set out in the FAQ so yeah we will be using the restricted card list. Ps - I'll go Dark Elves please. Cool that's you added in hopefully we'll see you on Thursday for the opening league night.

Some of you might have seen the sign up sheet last week at the club for the Warhammer Invasion league. If you didn't don't worry you can sign up tonight or sign up here on this post. The league will be running from next Thursday the 4th of August and will run through until Thursday the 29th of September. The league rules are as following: 1. Games will be played best 2 out of 3 with the winner getting 1 point and the loser getting 0, however the margin of victory (either 3-0 or 2-1) will also be kept in order to break ties in the league position. 2. The league will played according to FAQ 1.5 so please read it, there will be a copy at the club and it can also be found here. www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/warhammer_lcg/support/1-4/wh-faq-1.5.pdf3. Decks must be as standard 50-100 cards. 4. You must use the same ONE faction in every league game but may change deck from game to game (including changing deck size). 5. Alliances are NOT allowed however neutral cards of Skaven, Lizardmen, Vampires, Wood Elves and Brettonia (e.g factions that do not have their own capital board) are perfectly fine. 6. You may not play the same opponent more than once in a league game. 7. You may play more than one game a week but your total played games may not exceed the amount of league weeks by more than 1. (e.g. it's week 4 and you've only played 2 game you could play 3 games that night, however you couldn't go over 5) At the end of the league the person with the most points will have the prestigious honour of being Stirling Wargamers first Warhammer Invasion champion and may even receive a fabulous prize. Also after league is done there will be a knockout tournament as well if people are interested in that. So get signing up and if you have any questions just ask here, pm me or see me at the club. Looking good Callum I'm intrigued by the chrome spray since I'm about to start painting my Necron army. After you've left it for 24 how well does it take paint, more specifically washes ?
Thanks David

At the moment I'm happy to play any of the games I have which are :
Warhammer Warhammer 40k Lord of the Rings Warmaster (still waiting on the army to arrive at the moment) Warhammer Invasion Blood Bowl
Out of them all I'd probably least want to play Blood Bowl but overall I'm not bothered what I play at the moment.

Thanks for coming along and taking part, glad you enjoyed the game. We certainly enjoyed running it. Personally I always prefer a smaller game at these sorts of events as they tend to be quicker and simpler but still fun.

Yeah it was another sucessful event for the club, big thanks to Gus and everyone else who helped out and also a thanks to all my opponents for the games. Very pleased with a (somewhat ) lucky 2nd place and I think the tournament has at least in part helped me get back into WFB as I've been lacking in enthusiasm for it over the last few months. Will be looking to get some more games in now and hopefully attend another couple of tournaments through out the year. Good to see a lot of us local's doing well in a closely contested 2-6 positions but congratulations to Owen on winning yet again, maybe one of us will win it eventually. Just a note Gus that the VP's difference can't possibly be right as even with over -3000 against John Harper theres no way I could be on that sort of VP's. I think the game with John probably cancelled out my day 1 VP's but I was on +1900 for the game with Shane alone from Day 2.

Just a reminder since it's been a wee while since the sign up sheet went up. The club will be running a Lord of the Rings mini tournament on Thursday the 31st of March. The details are below -
- Armies may be no more than 350 points and can be chosen from 1 legions of middle earth list
- Armies must contain a minimum of 3 models (including 1 hero) and a maximum of 50 models
- All other normal composition rules apply (e.g. only 1 third of your warriors may have bows)
- There will be 3 games with a 45 minutes time limit each
- The 3 scenarios played will be High Ground, Contest of Champions and Pitched Battle
Hope to see you all there.
