...and when GW Falkirk closes down and we then lose their support from our tournaments and the like?
I have no problem with the likes of small independant retailers advertising that they do have savings to offer on GW products but if you do wish to deal with them then perhaps a littlie more tact could be required.
Stirling Wargamers has a good relationship with the local GW stores. We get free advertising of the club, we get sales of tournaments and stuff from the veterans of the local GW's who aren't club members and most of all, we get help on those tournament days with top quality terrain. The very least we can do in return if buy our GW related products from them.

Would all club attendees and members please note that there will be no club nights on the following dates, due to Ochill Community Centres Holidays: - Dec 27th 2007
- Jan 3rd 2008
- Jan 10th 2008
The club will open again on Jan 17th 2008 (where we expect to see everyone's shiny new models). In the meantime, the club will be open for it's Xmas Session where we have some great prizes to give away on the day. Also, can I take this oppurtunity to thank all the club's members and visitors over the past year and on behalf of the club's committee have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

OK, to get slightly serious for a while, I'll volunteer to take the reigns from Paul and would like to nominate myself for Chairman.
Stirling Wargamers has provided me with a quality location to play table-top games against quality opposition (not to mention quality tournaments) for over almost a year now and I want to make sure the club continues to exist for all existing members and those looking to join throughout 2008.
Cheers Gus

Nope, I'd like to vote myself as Webmaster. Lets see: 8 years of professional IT expierience with about another 8 fliddling with computers before hand. I'm a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator. Also, I've got a PC that works (all the time) with a constant internet connection. Also, got expeirence of setting up Cascading Style Sheets to improve the speed of websites and have access to the many web related sources via professional contacts. Actually, I'm not really going for Webmaster (too easy) - I just thought I would blow my own trumpet for a minute.

Yeah, hopefully some of the club members might feel inspired to enter something. Personally I would like to as well, but wouldn't waste the judges time.

I don't think Tim should be allowed to come along - I want a shot at Best Army (Well, if he paints his 40k models as well as his Orges you'll know what I mean).

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say in my 1st reply.
Using Mordian mini's with a totally custom paint scheme, you're free to use whatever Doctrines you like - you just can't say your army is a Mordian Iron Guard army.
It's when you want to use Mordian mini's and the Mordian colour scheme and then mess around with funny Doctrines that you start to confuse your opponent as what your army special rules are.

Well the rules for IG Doctrine at the tournament is that if you choose to use Doctrines you must use those of the army you have on the table. This is defined by both model and paint scheme.
In short, if you have Mordian models, painted as Mordian Iron Guard, you can either use no Doctrines at all or use the Doctrines for Mordians. You could not (for example) place those models and that paint scheme on the board and then state they were Cadian 8th.

Hello All As the club’s Membership Officer it's my responsibility to collect the attendance fees from members and non-members alike at club meetings. This can often take some time as not everyone arrives at the club at the same time and to wait until everyone arrives at the club will often mean that when the time comes to collect the fees, I often have to interrupt everyone’s game – including my own. In an effort to make this task a lot easier I’m proposing a club register ( credit to Donald for the idea), which attendees will sign upon entry to the club. This will allow for all members and non-members alike the chance to submit their fees to the club with the minimum of effort on everyone’s behalf. It will also have the added bonus of providing the club with a Fire Register on any given club meeting as well. The procedure for the club register would follow as such - Upon entry to the club, members should sign their name next to their entry in the club register. Non-members should print and sign their name in the next available entry.
- Whilst signing your name, you should deposit your entry fee in the money box provided. Brining the correct change if possible will eliminate the need for everyone needing change of a bank note. Club fees remain the same as always: £2 for Members and £3 for Non-Members.
- Upon leaving the club at the end of the meetings or at any time (i.e. trip to shops between games) please sign out of the club register, to ensure that no friendly neighbourhood fire-fighters risk their lives searching the club for you in the event of a fire. Upon returning to the club, please sign in again.
The Club Reigter will be located at the top table on the stage as soon as possible at the start of each club meeting and finally, if during any club meetings you have any other questions relating to memberships, then simply come up and ask. Cheers Gus

May have to give this a miss guys - 2 days is a hard sell to the family to play toy soliders.
Also, I forsee that points level causing some concern. You'll be restricting players from choosing what is often the fav part of thier army, a Lord, and their second fav, their 2nd rare slot.
But best of luck anyways - I still might make it.
P.S. How did you get into the GW Events Diary - I spoke to Bek Hawkby on the phone a few weeks ago and e-mailed her all the details (as per her instructions) and yet nothing. Did you guys have to wait long?

I think it would be prudent of me to paint the armies I currently have before getting a new one. Damm you Call of Duty 4.
Although on a serious note, I really would like to try and finish a good chunk of my Eldar before the month is out. A lot of it (Fire Dragons, Banshees, Scorpions, Spiders, Spears, a Vyper, 3 War Walkers, Hawks, abour 4 Harlequins and an Autarch) is either completely baseboated or at some stage close to completion and it really should take that much time to finish it off.
As for SOS, well I said to Paul that if my application for Chairman goes ahead, I'll take care of that this year so I suppose that gives me to June? before DWARF's tournament, which will hopefully see a Lion Chariot Army of Chrace come rumbling towards a battle line near you.
Those are my priorties, but with the recent release of Orks, I'm sure my Crimson Fists would like some payback (which is again, an army half painted) and I suppose I really should paint my Woodies at some point.
Not to mention a Eldar Titan, a FW Avatar and a FW Asurmen...
....but I just can't stop playing Call of Duty 4. (I need help).

Get it? Striding Forth? Stirling? River?....nevermind, I'll get my coat. Anyways, look what I finally built. Didn't add the leg guards or the holo-fins to the model yet, but they are pinned and primed and ready to go. Just didn't want to glue them in place yet. The parts themselves have been primed, washed and cleaned for a while now, but I wanted a good pose in my head before I started building it. So far about 5 hours work, but happy. I just hope I can do the model justice when it comes to the paint job.
